Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S IV, could feature an unbreakable display, according to a Reuters report. Earlier this year, Samsung had showcased a prototype bendable OLED display and the report could possibly be referring to it for the Galaxy S IV. It also claims that the phone’s display will have a pixel density of 441 ppi, which hints at a 1920 x 1080 pixel full HD resolution. The Galaxy S IV is currently being developed under the codename ‘Project J’ possibly after Samsung Mobile division chief JK Shin’s name.
Earlier this week reports emerged about the Galaxy S IV, which hinted at a quad-core processor on ARM A15 architecture, a 13-megapixel camera and a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. However, with an unbreakable display, Samsung could change everything and bring something truly innovative that could help it counter Apple’s iPhone, which has been at the forefront of hardware and design innovation.
The Galaxy S IV is expected to be available in April next year, though there have been reports about a possible announcement at CES next month. We doubt that considering Samsung had vowed to have major product announcements at its own events rather than clubbing them with major trade shows.
